To choose your freestyle scooter, you must take into account several elements: your size, your practice and your level, as well as the level you wish to reach.
Rider's height and size
If you are rather small and not very heavy, we recommend you to turn to a rather light scooter, from 2.8 to 3.5 kg. On the contrary, if you are tall and strong, go for a heavier scooter, from 3.5 kg.
As for the size of the handlebars, the best is that it arrives between the hips and the navel. Be careful, when we say that the handlebars must arrive at this height, it must arrive there when you are on the trott'. This advice is especially valid for beginners because when you will have a better level, you may prefer a higher or lower handlebar. Each rider will end up having his own preferences.
The skatepark
Now that you have the basics, let's get down to business. If you want to ride a scooter in a skatepark, we advise you to take a rather light scooter, the deck must be bevelled at the back to enter more tricks. For the handlebars, it is less dangerous to choose a "V" handlebar, that is to say with a recess in the middle. Indeed, a handlebar of this type is more manageable and especially it presents less risk of injury. Why? Because when you land a jump, you are less likely to hit your chin on the bar. In general, riders like handlebars that are really low for skateboarding, so more at hip level than at belly button level.
